AKRON, Ohio – FedEx Custom Critical, North
America’s largest time-specific, critical-shipment carrier, has
promoted Virginia Albanese to vice president, service. Albanese most
recently served as managing director, service and safety.

approach to problem-solving have enabled her to streamline processes and

Albanese joined the company in 1986 as a customer service agent and was
promoted to management trainee in 1987. She has served in a number of
management roles in operations, safety and contractor relations. In the
late 1980s and early 1990s, Albanese was a key leader in the form
d follow-up. Later, as director of safety, recruiting and contractor
relations, Albanese improved productivity by automating many of the
Safety department processes. She had been managing director of service
and safety since 1999.
Albanese holds a bachelor’s degree and an executive master’s of
business administration from Kent State University. She is a member of
the Innovation Learning Community and the American Trucking Associations
Safety Council.
